WORKFORCE PLANNING AND EMPLOYEE RELATIONS

This course will cover two topics related to the Management of Human Resources. The first one is workforce strategic planning – it forecasts the future needs for internal and external selection and for personnel training and development. The second one encompasses employee relations within the organization. Within this second topic we will study organizational climate factors and strategies, employee motivation, entrance into and exit from the organization.



Training programme:

Part 1
The goal of strategic workforce planning is to ensure the availability of qualified employees when they are needed, in order to achieve the organization’s goals.

The course will cover the effective planning process based on:
- Analysis of the needs for personnel
- Job market analysis
- Forecasting the future needs of the organization with regard to employee qualification
- Job analysis and job descriptions – they identify the knowledge, skills and abilities which are required so as to meet future needs
- Identifying qualified employees among those currently available

Part 2
Employee relations are a key factor for ensuring the organization’s productivity, as well as for retaining and attracting quality employees.

Organization climate factors the course will cover:
- Minorities
- Gender relations
- Employee engagement strategies
- Communication with employees
- Employee relations programs and procedures
- Professionalism and ethics of Human Resources professionals
- Workplace conflict resolution

Employee motivation has a significant impact on the nature of employee relations:
- Motivation theories
- How to motivate

Employee entrance into and exit from the organization are elements of employee relations. It matters how they are handled, because they could have a negative impact on employees and on the organization’s climate:
- Entrance: Employee introduction, Induction
- Exit: Voluntary, Termination, Mass layoffs, Disciplinary dismissals
