Peugeot iOn to be launched in Bulgaria at end-2010

Peugeot iOn in December 2010, Bulgarian daily Dnevnik said on November 16.

A few days earlier, Peugeot had announced it would launch the "zero-emission" city car in Europe at the end of 2010.

The iOn, based on the Mitsubishi i-MiEV platform, is fully electric and has a range of about 130km. Its lithium-ion batteries can be fully recharged in six hours, while a quick recharge of 80 per cent capacity takes only 30 minutes.

The iOn seats four and with its 64 horsepower engine has a top speed of close to 130 km/h.

Prices for the iOn had not yet been announced, Dnevnik said.

No other car manufacturer has announced plans to introduce all-electric cars on the Bulgarian market.
